Merit Counselors Needed in Troop 29

Are you looking for a way to make a meaningful contribution to Troop 29?  One way is to become a Merit Badge Counselor.  Our biggest need for MB counselors is for eagle-required merit badges for which we do not have a current Troop 29 parent assigned as a counselor.  These include:

  • Communication
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Personal Management
  • Personal Fitness
  • Hiking
  • Swimming
  • Lifesaving

In addition, there are more than 100 elective merit badges (see meritbadge.org for the list).  You could choose an area that you have expertise in, or better yet, choose a few merit badges to sign up for!!  It is not difficult and no prior experience is required.  Just sign up, read and understand the MB pamphlet and scouts will contact you when they are ready to get going.

Signing up to be MB counselor requires you to submit three documents:

Once you have these three items, just email them to Gary Jarvis  at timpglasshouse@gmail.com  or Frank Bailey at baileyfd@vfr.net.  It is as simple as that!  Also attached is an information sheet about being a MB counselor.  Once you turn in the forms, please also just shoot an email to David Calia (davidc@wavecable.com) and Jeff Sherer (jeffreysherer@yahoo.com) to let us know that you have applied.
