yosemite instructions

Here is the scoop for our Yosemite trip on June 5:

TO DO NOW:

1) Please respond with your email address and cell phone number.

4) For each scout please complete two attached forms:  T29 Permission slip and Yosemite release (starred section only).  Please complete and email back to me or give to me at troop meeting.

5) Read attached information on campground rules and bear safety.

EVENT DETAILS:

1) Its a 3 1/2 hour drive.  Meet at the Storage Shed at 4pm on Friday Jun 5.

2) We will camp at Yellow Pine Campground in the Valley

3) We have a free day Saturday and will work on Sunday/Monday.  We will head home early afternoon Monday.

4) We will be tent camping, so bring appropriate gear and clothing.

5) It will be cold at night.  Dress in layers and bring a hat and jacket.

6) Our volunteer project is campground cleanup.  Its actually fun.

7) On Saturday, if you are interested, I will lead a hike to the top of Yosemite Falls, a challenging hike.  Or you may choose to do something on your own (just hanging out in the valley is beautiful and I have lots of ideas if you need them).  No need to decide now, but if you hike, you will need the proper gear, including comfortable hiking boots/shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water bottles (suggest 2 liters per person).

8) Cost is $60 for scouts and $54 for adults, including gas and meals.

9) Bring a sack dinner for Friday

10) Bring $10 for food on way home

11) Campsites and park entry are free - I have passes

12) I will buy all food for everyone.  Ryan, Nico and Kai will be cooking for us, but we will all need to pitch in to help with prep and clean up.

13) I will have maps and directions for all drivers on Friday.

Its going to be fun!  Beautiful Yosemite, here we come!!!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
