James E. West Fellowship Award

There is no finer way to honor an Eagle Scout, a Silver Beaver recipient, Council, District or unit Scouter, or in memory of a departed loved one than to be named a James E. West Fellow.  This indicates that the nominee is in the same spirit and dedication to Scouting as was James E. West, the 1st Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America. Those who are recognized by the James E. West Fellowship Award will cast their own "lengthened shadow" as they help ensure the Scouting legacy by helping create the financial stability needed to carry Scouting in the next century. Read More

Vendors Needed

Camp Card Season is Right Around the Corner

It's not too early to think about the 2017 Camp Card Sale!  We had a huge sale last year and we want to make this coming year's sale even better!  But, we need your help to make this happen.

You can help by answering the 3 questions below:

  • Other than the usual grocery store and fast food restaurant deals that everybody wants to see on the Camp Card, what other vendors could be included to make our card more marketable for your Scouts to sell?
  • Could you help us secure these partnerships?
  • Do you know a local franchisee of a fast food restaurant or service establishment that has a large foot print in the Sacramento area?
We will begin to secure potential sponsorships this month with the intentions on having a finished product by January 15.
Please help us in making it easier for Scouts to earn their way to camp. E-mail me at, Chuck.brasfeild@scouting.org with your ideas on prospective vendor partners and if you can help us secure these partnerships. Your information and assistance will make this sale a record year for your Scouts and the Golden Empire Council!
