Do you know of a deserving scouter who has served scouting in an outstanding capacity? Think about that devoted leader who has worked not only at the unit level, but possibly at the district, council, or even higher levels of scouting. Commissioners, committee chairs, scoutmasters, cubmasters, trainers, advisors, coaches, committee members, event staff, and financial supporters are just a few of the scouters we are looking for. It is time to recognize these hardworking and devoted scouters by nominating them for the Silver Beaver Award. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor that can be bestowed to a volunteer at the council level.
Silver Beavers will be presented at the 2017 Golden Empire Council Recognition Dinner to be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Woodland Agricultural Museum. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize scouters for all they have done to support the youth in our community.
Nominations are to be submitted to the district committee by

A Council-wide Community Service Project Please join us as we scout our local neighborhoods to gather non-perishables food to fill our local food pantries. Scout friends and families are invited to help! Council Development Director, Andrew Dilliner, is congratulated by the Council Key-4 upon news of his resent promotion. Andrew has been selected as the Assistant Scout Executive for the Central North Carolina Council and is headed to North Carolina at the end of November. While in Sacramento, Andrew overhauled the Camp Card program, lead the popcorn sale, and community fundraising through special events. He will be missed!
