Thanks for your input and efforts so far on getting this program going for 2017. It is coming together nicely. Now all we have to do meet, design the boat and build it! From past experience this does take time and focus, but it is worth it! We hope to make this year the model for annual GEC STEM program.
Here is the plan with dates, explanations, questions and needs.
Plan
· Event to be run as a Troop with Richard Lozano as Scout Master; additional ASMs are needed
· Myself & others will make up the Committee
· Kai Rebollo will be SPL. He has done event past 3 years
· Day of event is limited to 30 spots which SMUD will cover breakfast & lunch; others are welcomed
· Design phase September- October
· Build phase November- April
· Test phase April
· Event May 5th
· Post event celebration & plan for 2018
· Engineering MB offered during Design phase
· Nova module Start your Engines offered during project
· STEM MB Saturday in January
· Potential assistance from Sierra College Engineering
· Potential campus tour of Sierra College Engineering department and labs
· Potential campus tour of Sac State Engineering department and labs

Explanations
· Feedback from many was that it is best to have meetings during the week.
· Attendance at the meetings in NOT mandatory.
· Information from meetings will be on web at "Solar Regatta Page".
· Webinars between meeting will occur as needed
· This is an excellent event for High School Scouts to put on their college applications
Needs
· ASMs and Committee members
