We talk about this is in training and it is an annual process.
It takes less than 5 minutes, is free, and can save $500 so it is a good deal.
It is required that an adult with a permit in possession be by the fire at all times. We have had a recent case in our District where a leader got a $500 ticket on a campout where the other leader had a permit but was out on a walk with Scouts.
If EVERY Adult has a current permit in our backpacks the chances of a problem go way way down. In years past we have been asked to show our permits on Snow campouts and the rangers were very friendly. What we don't know is if they would have been less friendly had we not been prepared.
