Our Five Lakes Basin backpacking trip has been postponed due to road
closures. A new trip has been planned in its place; see details below.
We are now camping for two nights at Mount Diablo State Park and hiking both
Mount Diablo and Mission Peak. We will leave from the Rocklin Community
Center at 8:00 am this Saturday, April 12th and return around 4:30 pm on
Monday, April 14th. This is now a car camping activity so look to the
troop website for the appropriate gear to pack for this trip. Scouts will
need to bring their own food for the duration of the trip. This includes 2
breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners. Scouts should also bring $10.00 for
lunch on the way home.
In addition to the $10.00 for lunch, the cost for this trip is $20.00 to
offset the costs of fuel, equipment fee, patches, and campsite fees. Our
campsite holds up to 8 people. If more than eight scouts and adults sign up
for this trip, the cost of the trip will slightly increase to cover the cost
of an additional campsite. Permission slips will be handed out at
