Scout and Parents,
NYLT stands for National Youth Leadership Training. See information below for details. This is an excellent opportunity for leadership training which will not only benefit your experience as a Boy Scout but also with jobs and college entrance application. This training is a national BSA program and is regarded as one of the best in the country for youth leadership skill training.
The deadline is April 1st. Troop 29 believes so highly in this training that they are offering several $100 scholarships to offset the cost of the course for youth that complete the training.
Registration is still open for the Spring 2014 National Youth Leadership Training Course. The course is taught on two weekends (April 11-13 and May 2-4) at Camp Nauvoo.
This leadership course is open to: 1) Varsity Scouts & Boy Scouts who are thirteen years old or older by the first day of the course, have achieved the First Class Rank or higher, and have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ISLT) and are recommended by their Scoutmaster or Coach; OR 2) Venturers (male and female) ages 14-20 years old, who have completed the online Crew Officer Orientation, (VLSC) Venturing Leadership Skills Course OR the new (ILSC) Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews, and are recommended by their Crew Advisor.
The cost of the course is $270 and the registration site is at http://www.gec-bsa.org/webpay/event/new. Registration closes on April 1, 2014.
