Special Kids Day May 14th

Parents,

Saturday/May 14th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the Lions Club Special Kids Day. The Lions Club is the Troop's sponsoring organization. So this is an opportunity for both community service and to thank the Lions Club. We need several boys and some adults to volunteer. Boys do receive community service credit (used to help satisfy both Scout requirements and the high school community service obligation).

This day is devoted to kids with emotional, developmental or physical disabilities. Scouts get to assist these kids constructing small wooden projects (like you probably did in Cub Scouts with Lowes or Home Depot). In the morning, there will also be a need for Scouts (14 or older) to assist with directing traffic in the parking lot.

This link provides a description of the event - http://media.wix.com/ugd/24c935_d40f57ea85cf4da6a79c2450de45f2cf.pdf.

Please go to the Troop's SignUp Genius site - http://signup.rocklintroop29.com/  to register. And specify (in the Comments block) what hours you can help out.

Thanks,

Tony Scott
